BIO

Rachel is a Canadian transdisciplinary artist. She received an MFA from the University of Georgia in 2023. Mediums include sculpture, painting, public art, installation, super 8 film, sound and curatorial. She has shown in galleries, notably the Vancouver Art Gallery and Yukon Arts Center, in artist run centers like UNIT//PITT Projects, Access Gallery and Untitled Gallery and temporary public outdoor sites across Canada, with a permanent public artwork in Downtown Prince George. She has participated in artist residencies in Prince George and Tallin, Estonia and has been supported by the Granville Island Activation Grant, Tom Hollingworth Scholarship, and the Edmonton Arts Council.

Living in Vancouver for almost a decade she was a vital part of the underground arts and music community, producing shows, running a warehouse music venue, and practicing guerrilla public art intervention. In 2014 she co-founded the artist run studio and gallery the Piss Factory in Vancouver and in 2019 co-founded Coral Plaza Arts Society in Edmonton, beginning as an art venue and transforming into a transient curatorial project. She is a sculpture educator, with a focus on collaborative student led public projects, and co-runs the Temporary School with art educator Lisa Novak. She is half of the twin art practice Temporary Investments, and co-founder of the transient gallery Parking Lot Platform. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
